This beautiful purpose crafted and written for you, and those you are connected to, is more captivating than any fairy-tale, more riveting than an epic legend or film…So why do we constantly seek outward, aimless distraction, yearning for merit-less validation, entertaining meaningless excuses and powerless foes like fear that dull and pull us away from our real-life reverie?
This year is ours to be found and to seek, to create, dance and play on purpose with childlike belief, to cultivate, thrive and flourish, to shine and savor the love we were made for and finally live out that dream courageously. This 2015 we’re waiting in eager anticipation for you to come awake and realize the truth of who you were always meant to be…free. #ariseandshine #beYoutothefull #liveboldlyonPurpose #youareBeautiful #alwaysbelieve #youremadeformore
Some say that when you don’t build your dreams, somebody else will hire you to build theirs. This may be true but what’s so wrong with helping someone else build their dreams if it is for a greater purpose that will benefit the lives of many.
One of my life mantras is that their is greatness in service and often before seeing our dreams come to fruition we may be called to help someone else’s vision. It’s important for us to have discernment on when it’s time for us to move on our own dreams, but faithfully serving in a greater mission can sow seeds of character, wisdom and relationships that make you richer than when you began.
Over the past year I’ve been a part of an amazing internship where I was able to be a small part of something big. The journey was difficult and and I sowed much time and energy, but I come out all the richer because of being able to build others’ dreams and meeting some of the most amazing people that have forever changed my life. Below meet some of those people and see a glimpse of our journey of finding purpose:
It was 2009 during a dry, lonely season in my life when I had an unexpected encounter that rocked my paradigm. During the experience I had a vivid vision of being in a white dress in what seemed to be a grand forest. My first inkling was, “Is this The Garden?”
There was a calmness, a brilliance, a presence of #Love there. Like a little girl I was full of questions- “Father, why…?” I asked. He revealed his heart and love for people from the Beginning, in imagery and passion, an intimate experience I will never forget and could never have imagined on my own…
These words I remember my Father saying there were the most striking to my heart: “Do you trust me?”
Yes. I do. I will follow His way, always. Even when I don’t understand, I will choose Him. Forever… #IamMyBeloveds #HeisMine #trusttheAuthor #theLovestoryofalltime
My Beloved speaks and says to me: “Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away…
For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree ripens its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance.
Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away.”
Your dream IS in reach…you’ve come too far to give up now. That vision is closer than you think – the world is waiting for you to embrace and take hold of it. Don’t turn back before you break through… Live boldly, Dare Dreamer – we are waiting to experience the beauty that only you can bring. I believe in you!

Have you ever uncovered a dream you’ve had since you were a kid and realized it was still alive? Often the passions you had, what you’re afraid to do and the pain you endured are purpose pointers of how God wants you to bring hope to others… weed out fear and dare to unbury and nurture those dormant dreams today…
“On the Outside” is the first song I attempted to write as a teen girl more than 12 years ago about struggling with years of loneliness, shyness, insecurity and the fear of being myself. I was too afraid to pursue my dream of singing for fear of not measuring up and being rejected. This year I’m going to finish this song for the girl I was and other girls like me to tell them that they have great purpose and about what set me free. Here’s a raw songwriting sneak peek…
“You’re in the delivery room not the tomb.” I was looking through an old journal today and came across this phrase that I wrote down back in 2011 after watching in interview on TV. It was the first time I heard Pastor Touré Roberts from One Church International speak and what he said struck my heart with a match of hope and a spark of God’s light in a dark period of my life then, and it encouraged me again today when I read it.
Ever since I saw this interview I’ve been continually ministered to from afar by the messages out of One Church International in LA, a church that I was drawn to because of the focus on enriching those in the fields of arts and entertainment, and that a few of my friends attend in Los Angeles. (Click here to read the feature I did on One Church and more of their powerful messages on my other site Dream in Soul).
I searched online today and found the interview that I watched that day and wanted to share it with you because I feel like someone else needs to hear it. If you’re going through an uncomfortable even awkward time of transition know that your story is not over. As Pastor Touré says in the interview below, it gets hardest and the most painful right before you give birth:
Below is one of the latest messages from One Church International (click here for the message archives) that spoke to my heart, a powerful word about resolving the unresolved things in your life that may be delaying the birth of your promise:
