Visual Creative: America’s Got Talent Season 7 – Inspiration from Performance Painter David Garibaldi and Sand Artist Joe Castillo
With all of the talent competitions geared toward singers, I always love to see when visual artists are able to have a national TV platform to showcase their work and genres. This season on America’s Got Talent two unique fine artists are in the top 12 – performance painter David Garibaldi his group CMYK, and sand art artist Joe Castillo. I’ve been following David’s work for a few years now and love his eccentric approach to his work, am also inspired by the heart and purpose behind Joe’s pieces. Here are clips from both of these creative minds, who are you rooting for this season?

Share It Maybe – Sesame Street’s Cooke Monster Spoof of Carly Rae Jepsen’s “Call Me Maybe”
This was too cute not to share, Cookie Monster spoofing Carly Rae Jepsen’s song “Call Me Maybe.” (Umm… who sweeps the floor after he’s done tearing up those cookies – I’ve wondered this since my childhood;).

Don’t Lose Your Childlike Creativity: Inspiration from Caine’s Arcade
Remember when you were young and fearlessly inventive? Never lose that kind of creativity, here’s some inspiration from a 9-year-old boy who won the hearts of many with his homemade arcade. Visit http://cainesarcade.com to find out more about Caine’s journey and how you can contribute to his scholarship fund.
About Caine’s Arcade
Caine’s Arcade is a short film about a 9 year old boy’s cardboard arcade, located in his dad’s used auto parts store in East LA.
Backstory
Caine Monroy is a 9-year old boy who spent his summer vacation building an elaborate DIY cardboard arcade in his dad’s used auto parts store.Caine dreamed of the day he would have lots of customers visit his arcade, and he spent months preparing everything, perfecting the game design, making displays for the prizes, designing elaborate security systems, and hand labeling paper-lunch-gift-bags. However, his dad’s autoparts store (located in an industrial part of East LA) gets almost zero foot traffic, so Caine’s chances of getting a customer were very small, and the few walk in customers that came through were always in too much of a hurry to get their auto part to play Caine’s Arcade. But Caine never gave up… Read More

A Little Room for the Kid in You
I’ll admit that I’m a big kid. In between college, running my business and doing all of the “adult” things in life, I still watch the Disney Channel sometimes (ok, alot) and like to embrace my inner child. One of my many interests is interior decorating. I love watching decorating shows, and one is Trading Spaces Girls vs. Boys. Here is some inspiration on decorating your room or office with a whimsical theme…
Stand Out At Your Wedding with Hand-Painted TOMS Shoes & Wedges from Soled By Melissa
As you may know I design customized wedding invitations and other stationery and gifts for special events, and I love everything having to do with weddings, decor and event planning. I’m also a lover of the vision and passion behind TOMS , and was excited to come across the custom hand-painted work of ‘Soled By Melissa’ created by entrepreneur Melissa Hendricks. She has done hundreds of personalized designs that combine intricately detailed patterns, bright colors and the clients preferences, from designs that match party schemes to sports teams.
I especially loved the pair of TOMS wedges (pictured at the top of this post) she recently painted to match one couple’s design and color scheme. It looks beautiful and whimsical all at once, and give a unique touch.
